Quick Marinara Sauce

My Italian grandma would probably be mortified to know that I am not cooking my marinara sauce all day long like she taught all us grandkids. But this momma is wayyyy to busy to make sauce all the time that takes a whole day to reach perfection . So here it is—simple, yummy and versatile (think pasta, Parmesan, pizzas!!).

Ingredients:

• 1/2 onion diced
• 4 cloves garlic minced
• 2 28oz cans of fire roasted crushed tomatoes
• 1 tbsp tomato paste
• 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp black pepper
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp dried basil
• 2 tbsp EVOO

Directions:

1. Heat oil in pot
2. Add onions and garlic. Cook until translucent.
3. Add tomatoes, paste and spices.
4. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
5. Done!!
