“Toes in the water, a$$ in the sand. Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand. Life is good today, life is good today” ~Kenny Chesney. Well that sums up my trip to Bakers Cay! Seriously though, Bakers Cay Resort was a vacation for the books! I can honestly say it is in my top 10 favorite resorts I have traveled too. From the views, to special little sitting areas around the resort, to the food and service this resort is bound to impress even the most pickiest of travelers. I’ll give you a quick run down of some of my favorite features.
Accommodations: We stayed on the 4th floor overlooking the mangroves and what an incredible view to wake up to each morning. Talk about waking and immediately feeling at peace and one with nature. The housekeeping staff does a fabulous job cleaning these rooms and providing in room amenities plentiful. The hubby and I loved how the room had a balcony too and found ourselves out there almost every morning to drink coffee and every night to have a night cap. The beds were comfortable too which is always a BIG PLUS for me!
Food: Alright let’s just dive right into what makes me soooo happy–Food and Cocktails! I did NOT have a single bad meal during our entire say and that says quite a bit considering we ate all but a couple of meals on property during our 4 night stay. A few of my favs..
Here’s the hubby and I all dressed up to watch that gorgeous sunset behind us while having dinner at Calusa. This night we decided to put our phones down after this picture so unfortunately no foods of the delicious meal with had. We went with the filet mignon and lobster/shrimp pasta–guys it was sooooooo good!
The Grounds: Wow oh wow, the grounds at Bakers Cay Resort were insanely gorgeous! Whoever the designer/planner was truly thought of it all from the little nestled in seating areas under the mangroves, to the furniture, to the swinging seating at Dry Rocks, to the lighting fixtures. I was so impressed and would love to meet the peeps behind it!!! Also, the groundskeepers were top notch–they even would use a blower to blow the sand off rocks on the pathways! Check out some of my favorite spots below..
Activities on Property: Arts + Crafts, Pineapple Scavenger Hunt (just as it sounds you cruise around the property in search of all the hidden golden pineapples), Movie Night, Paint and Sip, Beach Bingo, S’more Bonfire, Jetskiing, Sunset Cruise, Kayak, Namaste Yoga, Fitness Boot Camp, Live Local Music. You can also Dock to Fish — catch you own fish and have the resort cook it up. They also have incredible massages which the hubby and I of course just had to try! The really amazing thing is you can chose the location of your massage–in the spa room, on a pergola over the water, by the waterfall and in your guest room.
Overall, it was an incredible trip and one I hope to duplicate here soon. Next time we are even going to bring our kids (and maybe even the pups–yes it’s even dog friendly!) as it is super family friendly and I especially love the beach set up for the kids. For those of you needing an amazing wedding spot this place is sure to WOW your guests and for my corporate event planners book this ASAP for your company! They have plenty of event spaces to chose from, my favorite being on the beach like this Cinco de Mayo celebration we went too!
