If you have been here for awhile you know that I absolutely love to go explore this beautiful world of ours! I love the mountains to the sea and everything in between. Our recent trip to Italy was maybe my favorite International trip to date–we visited the Amalfi Coast, Capri and Rome for our 10th Wedding Anniversary (don’t worry a blog post with all the details of where we stayed, ate and went is coming soon!)–and it was on this trip that I realized I so need to share with you all some of my favorite travel essentials. Let’s start with my top 5 that I posted over in a reel on IG…
Pack an Extra Bag that is Waterproof & Can Be Rolled
(for beach, souvenir shopping, etc)
Having a beach bag (or extra travel bag) that is waterproof and can be rolled is essential when traveling if you ask me! For our recent trip, I took my bag to the beach, to shop all the shops, on a boat ride and at the end of the trip to help me carry all those fun gifts for the kiddos back home. My favorite bag currently is from Squeeze De Citron and as you can tell from the video above it is easily rolled to save space in your suitcase which is a huge plus and it is gorgeous! They offer tons of sizes in this “Core Collection” so you can chose the one that fits you best.
I have a special discount for you for these bags at a local boutique (that ships across the USA), JENNA15 gets you 15% off, link HERE to check out what patterns they have in stock – just remember you want it to be part of the Core Collection if you want to roll it.
Bum Bag or Cross Body Bag
(to Keep Personal Items Safer)
When traveling, especially in foreign countries, you need to make sure you are protecting your personal items aka ID, credit cards etc from possible theft. I highly suggest to wear a bum bag or shorter strapped cross body bag to be able to constantly see and feel your bag. Wearing a backpack is a no no unless you aren’t carrying anything of value in it as professional thieves can easily get in them without you even knowing (trust me, it has happened to so many people I know!).
This bum bag from Etsy is my personal favorite as it is fashionable, can be personalized if you like and it has a back zipper that is pressed up to your chest that you can easily fit your ID, payment methods and cell phone. Click HERE to see more details.
Packable Hat & Hat Clip
You all know I LOVE wearing hats and during the summer time (especially when traveling) a hat is a must have along with a magnetic hat clip to easily clip it to any bag or purse.
Let’s start with this beautiful neutral Panama style hat! It is adjustable to fit your head perfectly, has a beautiful neutral color combo and is lightweight which is great for the hot summer time. BUT the BEST PART about this hat is that it is packable. It can be tossed around and will still maintain it’s shape!! It’s under $30 too! Click HERE to shop.
A hat clip remains on my purse at all time now especially because this one by Lindsay Albanese is so stylish! It easily can be put on and taken off any purse, bag, luggage with the clip and then the hat is connected with strong magnets so the hat isn’t damaged. Click HERE to check out the clips.
Raincoat OR Umbrella
The last thing from my reel highlight that you want so you can still go exploring on vacation event when it is raining, is an umbrella or raincoat.
When it comes to an umbrella, you want to snag one that is windproof and compact for easy packing and carrying around. Click HERE for my current fav find from Amazon.
For a raincoat, I love my coat from Lululemon. I have had mine for years and it still looks brand new. I have worn it in the streets of Scotland to fly fishing at the Greenbrier in West Virginia to battling the rain in NYC. The best part is that it is light weight and can be rolled into itself making it key for packing. Click HERE to check it out.
