If someone would have told me Yogi Bear would make a comeback in the forms of an awesome RV, camping, cabin resort I wouldn’t have believed it!! But here we are traveling yearly now to watch the leaves change colors in the fall and to say hi to our good old friends Yogi, Boo Boo and Cindy Bear.
Although there are Jellystones across the country we keep coming back to the location in Golden Valley, North Carolina (also referenced as Bostic, NC). We initially chose this particular location as we loved the on site hiking trails that lead you up through the wooden mountain side and all the other amenities. Let me give you a bit more info on this fun kid friendly RV Resort that fully welcomes RVers, campers and those who want the cabin lifestyle.
How to Stay
Most of the Jellystone locations offer the same type of lodging but of course check each particular site’s website for full information on how to stay.
We of course drive our RV up and stay in our RV but they do have tons of options for those who don’t RV–you can stay at campsites, go glamping in their hill top spaces amongst the trees or rent a variety of cabins (some with amazing views of sunsets and the lake). There are so many different ways to stay based on your family size and how much in nature you chose to be. Our good friends joined us this last trip and stayed in one of the sunset cabins. The cabin was soooo cute and had a great porch area plus rooftop porch to view the sunrises and sunsets.
What to Do
The beauty at staying at a Jellystone park is that they have pretty much thought of everything and centered it around family friendly activities. During the open season they have a daily activity schedule that changes during the seasons and has fun arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, fun games like musical chairs, breakfast with Yogi and the bear crew plus they have fun zones on site too.
The outdoor recreation activities at this particular site are amazing — hiking trails, alpine roller coaster (which was so neat to travel though the trees on a coaster), over water zip line, water obstacle course, playground, trampolines, tennis and Pickleball courts, putt putt golf, gem mining, pools with water park and more!
Other Must Knows
Dining: They do have 1 restaurant onsite but it has every changing hours so don’t count on it for every meal. Plan ahead of time so easy to cook meals or meals you can easily reheat in your RV, cabin etc.
Getting Around the Park: Golf carts are how you an easily get around to all the fun on the resort. You can rent them through the website before arrival.
Country Shop: There is a store with limited cooking supplies, memorabilia and groceries (including ice). Again, there is limited hours so check the website and app before arrival and while there.
