Last year Cole and I decided to take the little ladies and go skiing in Italy (if you have been here awhile then you know the previous year we took them to France to ski as we saved over $10,000 by traveling overseas — I know, my mind is still blown!!). Since then our friends and us have been talking about going back especially if the resort we stayed at last has room because it was that good!
Here is one of the very few family photos we got outside of ski clothes and I promise you Babycakes had a great time and just wasn’t wanting to take a photo after a long day lol

If you haven’t researched the Dolomites then let me give you a little info on why I love it…
The Dolomites are in Italy, talk about some gorgeous views!!! The food is Italian and beyond incredible — not sure I had one single bad meal! The Italians love us (fun fact they also consider themselves of a different region meaning they are Italian but they have a subculture of the Swiss!). The towns are charming and just make you want to stay. Also, most places in Italy are extremely family focused which means amazing kid clubs, not being annoyed when your kid spills their water and love to see the family unit together. (you can also do this area kid free and oh so polished! But that’s not what I went for so this particular post is going to focus more on the family aspects even though our kids rarely wanted to spend time with us! lol)
Also, in true @R_H fashion we also are going to be talking about the fashion!

Where to Stay
We stayed in the cutest town called Ortisei in Italy. It was so charming and exactly what we were looking for. Not too touristy but still had easy. and direct access to the multiple mountains.
We absolutely loved the resort we stayed at and definitely are trying to rebook for this next year. The Adler had everything we had hoped for — the most amazing kids club with the sweetest ladies working it (my friend’s child literally did NOT want to ever leave it!); family rooms with separation; a full on incredible spa experience with grotto, steam rooms, treatment rooms, pools etc; and amazing cuisine! I also found the price extremely reasonable for what you get since it includes the kids club and breakfast daily for your family. Another fun thing is it is a spa resort so if you want to walk around in your robe all day it is completely acceptable here!

Skiing Details
Before I dive into the mountains, the kids skiing program and all the things let’s talk about some fun skiing gear! My favorite outfit I wore was this fur little number that got some attention on the slopes (and guess what….it was from Amazon!!!). But don’t worry if you are more into not as eye catching but still chic gear I’m putting more inspiration below. Click HERE to shop.
The kids ski program was amazing — the instructors did such a good job with the kids not just teaching them but making it fun for them. They have both half and full day programs PLUS they are wayyyyy more affordable than any ski week I have booked in the states for my girls! Another perk of staying at the Adler is that a kids club attendant takes them and picks them all up. Talk about a #momwin ! Also if you go for the whole week, at the end of the week they do a fun race that the kids compete in. The kids were tickled pink to show us what they learned.
My hubby’s favorite activity ever is snowboarding and he loved both of the mountains we went on. There are tons of runs, so plenty to do for the week and at so many different levels. But their level indication on their signs in different from ours here in the state so make sure you know the difference. I’m more of a leisure snowboarder just trying not to fall at my age so I was more focused on looking cute and dining al fresco on the slopes. Let me tell you the cuisine is insane! I had maybe the best pasta of my life on the slopes!

Where to Eat
You all know I plan whole vacations around where we are going to eat and I found some great bites on our trip!
Best Pizza: Turonda
Best on the Slopes: Baita Pauli Hutte
Best Dinner Spot: Restaurant Tubaldel
Best Breakfast: Adler Hotel
Now let’s talk about some outfits you want to pack…. Dinner outfits, days off the slopes to shop, grab hot chocolate and explore. Check out the inspo boards below and click HERE to shop them

SHOPPING: IF you are traveling with your littles, make sure to check out the sweetest kids toy store on the main strip in Ortisei called Sotriffer. It has been opened for over 100 years and the owner is just too lovely (I believe it is her grandfather who started the store at its infancy).
My hubby and I also found a great little local boutique with high quality Italian pieces. Make sure to stop by Rosa Martinez.

I think that’s all! Now to convince the Adler to have 3 rooms opened during the week I need for my friends and I lol!
