My hubby is seriously obsessed with all things peanut butter and he always requests a peanut butter pie for the holidays. This is his favorite tried and true recipe.
Crust Ingredients:
1 pack Oreo cookies (about 30 cookies), crushed into flour like consistency
6 tbsp salted butter, melted
Filling Ingredients:
2 cups creamy peanut butter
1 cup melted butter
1 cup powdered sugar
3 cups whipped cream
Ganache Topping:
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
First put together the crust. Crush up the Oreos then add the melted butter. Press into the pie crust.
In a large bowl add all the filling ingredients except for the whipped cream. Once incorporated, fold in the whipped cream. Then pour into pie dish.
Make the ganache topping by heating up the heavy cream then adding the chips. Whisk the chocolate chips until smooth, remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes. Then pour desired amount over pie. (Optional: add peanut butter cups and powder sugar for garnish)
