I have to be honest the only thing I really don’t like about living in gorgeous South Florida is the lack of a true fall. We don’t get that fun time of year where we bundle up in sweaters, sip hot coffee outside and enjoy the crispness of the air. But, I still LOVE to get our home fall ready so at least we can pretend that it is a bit chilly outside (and yes, some mornings it gets below 80 degrees and I do get to sit on my porch and drink a hot cup of Joe!).
I have been loving the all fall decor (and fashion) pieces this year! The endless supply of pumpkin scented candles, pumpkin inspired decor, warm & cozy blankets have given me all the feels.
To kick off the decorating, let’s start with what others will see on a daily basis and that is your front porch. I am from the south so I believe that your front porch needs to feel extremely inviting and more like a living room than an outside space. It should be a space that you want to hang out in–cue open that bottle of wine and just enjoy the fresh air. You can accomplish a fabulous fall porch by adding 5 key fall essentials, check out this quick reel below…
#1 Add a Fall Wreath to Your Front Door
This is the easiest way to signify a change of season to your home. For my front door, I opted to create a simple but beautiful burlap wreath. This takes a couple of supplies and only about 15-20 minutes of your time. Follow the tutorial below to create your own.
2. Place a Fall Doormat
Time to replace the good ole “Hope you brought wine” doormat with a fall inspired one (although the wine one is applicable year round over here!!). I found some great ones this year at Target that I am loving! Click HERE to check out some of my favorites!
3. Give Me All the Pumpkins
So it definitely wouldn’t look like fall without some pumpkins. I am a huge fan of “Autumn” pumpkins–you know the ones that are funny shapes and colors. Plus I do add in a couple “regular” pumpkins to keep the tradition alive. I usually gravitate towards making small pilings of pumpkins on either side of my front door or entry to our porch.
4. Arrange Some Fall Inspired Pillows
When it comes to a fun fall porch you will want to bring on the comfort too by adding some fall inspired pillows–grab the oranges, browns and the ones with some fall sayings. Click HERE to shop some fall pillows and decor.
5. Decorate Your Coffee Table
There are so many fun fall trays you can do for your outdoor coffee table (or side table). I opted to add a tall vase with candle, a white pumpkin and some fall foliage.
So grab yourself some burlap, a fall doormat, some pumpkins, fall inspired pillows and a tray with all the fixings for a beautiful fall tablescape and go decorate!
