Growing up I can remember sitting around the table with my mom and sisters during this time of year making handmade gifts for our neighbors and family. My mom always said how easy it is to buy someone a gift but it is so much more special to make something from your heart with your hands to show them the love you have for them. We made everything from homemade baked goods to painted ornaments and everything in between. I’ll never forget the look on the gift receivers faces as they learned the gift they just got was made just for them by us.
As I have gotten older I have tried to continue this tradition not only with my kids making holiday gifts but also by making them myself to gift either to the hostess of a party I’m attending, to those who come to our annual Christmas party, to my husband’s staff and our neighbors. The same thrill I remember getting from gifting as a child still happens to me as an adult and it’s a feeling I highly suggest you getting.
Let’s kick this Handmade Christmas Gifts Series off with gifting a Stovetop Potpourri — not only does this gift look beautiful and professional thanks to the printed out sticker to keep the jar closed but you can easily add it to a larger gift (add in my favorite clear pot to simmer this in – Click HERE for pot) or make it a fun favor for a party.
Stovetop Potpourri Jars
This little jars contain all the ingredients for an amazing smelling simmer pot — your home will smell amazing by added natural fragrances this holiday season. (Click HERE to buy the jars)
Here is what you need to make them:
Adding the Label
The special touch that makes this gift next level and look professional is adding a fun label that has instructions on it. (click HERE for the blank sticker pack)
I buy sticker sheets for this and print the image to the right on them. Then slice them into long strips.
If you have any issues with the labels turning out blurry or not printing correctly, follow this link HERE to the pdf
And there you go, you just made the most wonderfully smelling handmade Christmas gift ever! Best part is you could change out what is inside the jars to go with each season to gift throughout the year.
