It’s no surprise to all of you that I love hosting parties (if you don’t know this, then you need to head over to IG where all the day to day magic happens!). When you host as much as I do – and usually for most of the same crowd – impressing your guests becomes harder and harder. That is where my new found love for candied fruits comes in! You can put these on a charcuterie board, use as decor and put in drinks!
In the recipe below I am using lemons but you can easily do this same process with any citrus fruits –grapefruits, limes, oranges etc. The key is to cut the slices the same width and letting them cook low and slow. Let’s dive right in!
Ingredients:
Directions:
2. Next add your fruit into the saucepan in a single layer. Do not overlap the fruit as you want each piece to cook evenly and thoroughly. You will flip them 2-3 times over 20-30 minutes. Cook until the fruit starts to become translucent.
3. After the fruit is cooked, lined them on a parchment lined baking sheet. Cook in a 200 degree Fahrenheit oven for 1 hour. Then remove and let cool. Use however you want.
STORING UNUSED CANDIED FRUIT: Best way to store the fruit up to 1 month in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
